Mick Watson is an artist who lives and works in St. Leonards-on-Sea, UK.
He makes photographs and installations. The photographs begin with painted objects, that are arranged and lit. The installations begin with photographs and work with colour, scale and sound. Both are concerned with uncertainty. Perception and memory interest him because they can be unreliable: what we see and what is present are not always the same.
In the photographs, a three-dimensional painted arrangement is photographed flat and may read as a painting. In the installations, colour, scale and sound produce an experience without defined imagery.
