Heavy Lamentations consists of three photographs. Each contains the same three painted wooden forms: a white rectangular block, a black rectangular block and an orange sphere. The arrangement changes across the series.

The objects are made and painted in the formal language of painting but photographed in three-dimensional space. The photograph flattens the scene back into two dimensions. From a distance the images can read as paintings.

The titles draw from the Book of Lamentations, a text about surviving destruction.
